Florida State added some big hitters to the list of schools planning to attend the Sunshine Showcase Mega Camp in Tallahassee on June 6. Power Five programs Oregon, Penn State, and Nebraska are some of the latest programs FSU has confirmed as being in attendance for the prospect camp next month.
The aforementioned schools join fellow Power Five programs Minnesota, Washington State, Arizona State, Kansas, Kansas State, Indiana, and Utah as teams that will be represented by coaches or staffers at the event.
Other notable programs planning to attend include FAU (the home of former FSU coach Willie Taggart), in-state USF, neighboring FCS program FAMU, and Memphis (Norvell’s former school). Nearly 60 programs, ranging from Power Five to NAIA and everything in between, are expected to be represented.
The camp will consist of four sessions on June 6, and will be broken down by positions. The event will be held on FSU’s intramural fields.
Norvell is a proponent of this camp format and hosted large events with other schools in attendance during his time at Memphis.
June represents the first month players can attend organized recruiting events on college campuses in more than a year.
