“Another one.” – DJ Khaled.
According to reports, UNC Forward Garrison Brooks has entered the transfer portal. That news itself isn’t too much of a surprise seeing as Brooks is a senior, and many seniors who have spent four years at one school around the country, have entered the portal to explore their options at other schools with the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA. The real surprise is that every player on the 2020-21 UNC roster 6’10” or taller is now either in the transfer portal or has declared for the NBA Draft.
Armando Bacot and Day’Ron Sharpe have both declared for the NBA Draft, but it’s expected that Bacot will eventually withdraw and come back to school. Walker Kessler, Walker Miller, Sterling Manley and now Garrison Brooks, are all in the transfer portal. New UNC head men’s basketball coach Hubert Davis publicly acknowledged his intentions to re-recruit Kessler to come back to the team.
If you go by Twitter, the messages passed between Brooks and Bacot would indicate the news of him entering the portal is true. Bacot saying, “learned a lot from you bro thanks for everything brodie.” With Brooks replying, “all love. it’s your world killa.”
According to VerbalCommits.com, almost 1,300 names are currently in the transfer portal in division one college basketball.
